On July 2, 2021, the PandaMR virtual event platform hosted the first hybrid open day of Moscow State University after M.V. Lomonosov and its Yerevan Branch College after A. G. Yeritsyan. The event was anticipated by hundreds of applicants who had previously completed the standard application process, and hundreds of other candidates who were interested in earning a degree there were able to attend the event.Â
Â
The Open Days was physically held directly at the university and gymnasium, and the parents and students who were not physically able to participate took the chance to directly communicate with the staff of the university, ask questions, and get acquainted with the details via the PandaMR platform. The visitors were able to book a first meeting with an academic specialist on the courses they were interested in, discuss the perspectives associated with studying at the university, and exchange ideas and views on a development study plan.Â
Â
Participants were impressed by the 3D environment, where people moved around with their avatars in real time, communicated with classmates, teachers, and other applicants via real-time voice chat, and got acquainted with the classrooms and hosts in them.
Overall, in times of a lockdown and health hazards, the hybrid event was a great mean to increase to audience and potential applicants for the university.Â
